Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What Colors Are Available
A full range of color is available allowing me to work with each client individually creating the shape and
color of your choice. Pigments used do not create a conflict with medical procedures, such as MRI. Colors
stay true over time when cared for properly and with daily use of sunscreen for outdoor activities. With a
second visit included in your price, we can make color darker or lighter or even alter the shape.
Q. What type of machine is used?
The Harmonix micro pigmentation computerized cosmetic-tattooing machine is the most advanced
computerized technology available on the market today!
The revolutionary new Harmonix Micro pigmentation device is operated with the assistance of
technologically advanced electronics, and was created for the use in modern cosmetics to enhance the
underlying natural appearance of the patients on which it is applied. This device is extremely easy to handle,
and enables the creation of long-lasting make-up in a gentle manner. The motion of the adjustable needle
guarantees mild invasive pigmentation with a short puncture depth, leading to a long, lasting and convincing
aesthetic appearance. Because the power supply is controlled by a microprocessor, the frequency of the
needle will remain constant throughout each procedure.
Q. What does it cost?
This is one of the most often asked questions when people first consider permanent makeup. The bigger
issue is do you really want the cheapest person you can find? In this industry, higher cost often equals
higher quality. Permanent makeup is just that, permanent. If you go shopping for clothes, shoes, furniture,
and other consumable goods, it is often wise to shop price. If you don't like the item you purchased, you
have not made a life long mistake, and you can simply discard it or give it to your sister-in-law. A
discriminating buyer will often estimate how long an item should be appropriate in their life, and base their
price shopping accordingly. You do not have this same luxury with a procedure that is permanent, such as
plastic surgery, a tattoo, or permanent cosmetics. Having those services done could alter you for life. A
permanent makeup technician who is using proper sterilization, good equipment and has a professional
facility will not want to be the lowest priced person. They will invest their funds for sterile and sanitary
business procedures, for proper insurance and for professional forms and surroundings. A low cost
person will not have all of these or they would not be able to "give away" their services. Interview the
technician being considered, look at their portfolio. Are they using a professional camera? Is the facility
clean and neat? Do they show you singly packaged equipment with sterile markings on the bags? Do they
have certificates of continuing education? All of these items are necessary for success in permanent
makeup and they all cost money. A lot of money. The price being charged should include at least one follow
up visit, if not two. Be sure it does. If not, the technician is below the standard of care in the industry. The
price should also include some use of topical, over the counter anesthetics to minimize the pain and
discomfort of the procedure. If the technician is not charging several hundred dollars they most likely are not
doing what they should be to keep up with this rapidly changing industry. In that case, be wary.
Q. Do you guarantee Your Work?
Yes, I guarantee all my work to stay. After the area has healed. If any light spots or minor adjustments need
to be made it is included in the price when made within 6 months.
I also guarantee to charge ½ of the current price of procedure on all clients of "Permanently Yours"
COSMETIC TATTOOING for a full 10 years after the original procedure.
Q. What is MIR?
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a fairly new type of simple, painless examination. MRI uses
magnetic fields and radio waves to "see" internal organs and soft tissue without the use of x-rays. Since
these machines use a magnet, the results can be altered by the presence of metal in the exam room.
Jewelry, keys, zippers, snaps and other metallic items must be removed prior to the exam. Prior to
undergoing a MRI the patient should be asked if he or she has ever had any type of permanent coloring
technique (i.e., tattooing) applied to any part of the body. This includes eyeliner, decorative designs, or other
similar applications. This question is necessary because of the associated imaging artifacts and, more
importantly, because a small number of patients (less than 10 total people) have experienced transient skin
irritation or swelling in association with MRI procedures. In summary, a client with P.C. can have an MRI
done safely and effectively with no ill side effects or diagnostic problems. The practitioner plays a key role in
prevention by informing the client as to the nature of the MRI and its alternatives. It is important that the client
inform the physician they have P.C. In addition, the patient should advise the MRI operator regarding any
unusual sensations felt at the site of the tattoo during the MRI examination. The Society of Permanent
Cosmetic Professionals was instrumental in funding and participating in research on tattoos and possible
MRI interaction. This project, by Whitney Tope M.D. showed that any risks were negligible to the client and
non-existent to the special equipment employed during the procedure. It is important that clients feel
assured of the safety of their permanent cosmetics. It is important that the public know that these
procedures are safe and that they are not a contraindication to having an MRI.
